About Laurie
Laurie is dedicated to liberating students and fostering confidence and commitment to learning through engaging, responsive, rigorous literacy instruction and curriculum. She is able to see connections and overlap between multiple educational initiatives within organizations to maximize student growth and success, empowering educators and students in order to meet learners’ needs while celebrating their strengths.
When not championing the written word in classrooms, Laurie is a mother, partner, and proud resident of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Her personal time is spent momming her two children, Lydia and Holden while mastering the mom-selfie, frequenting indie bookstores, and loving on all of the quirky fun Minneapolis has to offer.
